The Oklahoma Sooners head Basketball coach is Lon Kruger while Dukes HBC is Mike Krzyzewski. If your asking me which coach K I want its Kruger.
Kruger started in 1982 when he jump started a program at Texas Grand Valley. He nearly tripled their wins from 7 wins in 1982 to 20 before leaving in 1985. Now even though they won 20 Games this was Kruger's only team to not make an NCAA invite.
Kruger wa then invited home to his alma mater at K-State.While at home he never had a losing record in the Little Apple. Krugers best team made a Elite 8 run eventually losing to the 1988 National Champion and Arch Rival Kansas.
Gainesville home of the Florida Gators was the next stop for Lon. While leading the Gators he only had one losing season.The bright side was a Final 4 Four run in 1990. He also set up the stepping stone for the next coach Billy Donovan.
Illinois was the next stop on his long college Hoops history. One losing season and 3 (20) winning seasons was his outcome with the Illini. He never made a Final Four run again but set the Stone for Billy Self.
After a stint in the NBA Lons Next college attempt came with UNLV Rebels. He did not have a losing record with the Running REbels. His best season was a 30-7 run. the th loss came to Oregon in the NCAA Sweet 16.
Then as we all know he came to wear the Crimson and Cream at Oklahoma. Of course his deepest run as a Final Four run three years ago in 2016.
