In 1987 Billy Tubbs had a new face on the Bench Alex Brown was the New Team physician. What a run its been. Not to be cliche but hes witnessed the Ultimate of Highs and Ultimate lows. Team physician Brown "Turned In His Sneakers" after the Sooners upset Kansas Hoops last night.
Brown has been the physician since 1987 and has seen Plenty of NCAA March Madness Games. He worked for Three Final 4 teams once a piece by Billy Tubbs,Kelvin Sampson,and now Lon Kruger.
In 32 seasons he not only kept the Sooners healthy from Nagging injuries hes done the same thing to himself. in 32 years he was the bench for 1,050 games. This mean he roughly only missed 5 Games in all 32 years.
Of course everyone will remember the final four runs he helped the teams to. The Tubbs he helped the Sooner to the National title when they lost to Kansas.Oklahoma did beat Kansas in the regular season.
Sampson's year Oklahoma's season ended to Indiana. MAryland ended up beating Indiana in the national Title. The same MAryland that you guessed it came to Norman in the Non Conference that same year.
Lon's Sooners players played Villanova their final Four year in the non-con also. In the Preseason game in Hawaii Oklahoma beat Nova in a Neutral site Game. Nova ended the regular season by beating UNC.
