The Sooners winning streak has been stopped. But their trips to the Super Regionals is not. The Sooners took care of UMBC-(Game 1) & Wisconsin-(Game 2). The Badgers did win a game against the Sooners (Game 3). The Sooners however did get the Badgers back in a deciding game-(Game 4).
Here is how the Sooners got to their most recent Super Regional play in Norman.
UMBC-(Game 1)
(12-0)-(Oklahoma)
The Sooners jumped off to an early start scoring (1) run in the Bottom of the 1st(1-0)-(Oklahoma). (2) more runs were pushed across the plate by OU in the Bottom of the 2nd (3-0)-(Oklahoma). The Oklahoma bats kept being hot scoring (4) more runs in the 3rd-(7-0)-(Oklahoma). The Sooners would then end the game on a Run Rule by scoring (5) more runs in the Bottom of the 4th (12-0).
Wisconsin-(Game 2)
(4-0)-(Oklahoma)
The Sooners put the Badgers in hole early scoring (1) run in the top of the 1st (1-0)-(Oklahoma). The Badgers Defense then settled down until the Sooners pushed (1) more run across the plate in the top of the 5th-(2-0)-(Oklahoma). The Badgers Defense was again crazy good only allowing (2) more run by Oklahoma in the top of the 7th-(4-0)-(Oklahoma).
Wisconsin-(Game 3)
(2-1)-(Wisconsin)
The Sooners again got on top first scoring (1) run in the bottom of the 1st-(1-0)-(Oklahoma). The Sooners and the Badgers were then in a stalemate for the rest of the game if you will. That is until the Badgers scored (2) runs in the bottom of the 6th-(2-1)-(Wisconsin). This forced a deciding game (7) Winner takes all game again with the Badgers.
Wisconsin-(Game 4)
(2-0)-(Oklahoma)
This time the Sooners would Beat the Badgers at their own game. That meaning it would be a low scoring defensive game. The Sooners jumped on top with (1) run in the top of the 3rd -(1-0)-(Oklahoma). That would be all the runs the Sooners would need but they added (1) more just in case in the top of the 4th-(2-0)-(Oklahoma).
What's Next
The Norman Super Regional
The Sooners will play a Super Regional Series with Northwestern. The best if three games can be soon on one of the ESPN Family of Networks-(ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU). If your wanting to attend the series you have to be online and buy then through the OU Ticket office that way. If wanting to buy them online know the Tickets go on sale at 10:00 AM Central on Tuesday. LIMITED Tickets could be available on GameDay but don't count on it.
