So much has changed since I was my nephews age going to the OU Spring Game. But just like a lot of the time change is good. The change is good from the Fans, to the incoming players, and the current players.
Fans get an awesome show also. Not only do you get a chance to buy Football helmets and shoes exc. at the Sooner Sale. Then comes the food truck experience. There's also like carnival rides for the young Sooners fans. For the Older Sooner fans there's a Concert concept now in effect. The music this year in (2019) is set up at 1:30 PM. It will be Lee Brice before a 3:00 Kickoff.
It's also a great experience for the incoming Freshman class because they get to see Oklahoma Football fans support the Sooners. Now there's usually not like 85.000 fans in the stadium. They also get a great chance to get to meet a lot more of the current football team players. Usual recruiting trips you just meet with a person on your recruiting visit. Not to mention also the coaches on staff.
The Current players the Spring game has always been good for this side. Some players that haven't played significant playing time get to play in front of a couple of thousand fans and coaches. Particularly when like the Sooners you have new coaching staff.
